Welcome to Spirit Dance Lodge

It has been a magical winter so far, and today is a bright, cold, brilliant day. The sky is bluer than blue, the sun’s scattering armloads of glitter over the deep snow (77” on the mountaintops!). When you’re on the slopes, it seems like you’re skiing through fairy dust: turn your tips and the sparkles fly.

“If you’re not in Jackson Hole right now,
by George you should be!”

Where to stay? The Clear Creek Group has a new, and positively heavenly, addition to our portfolio of luxury Jackson Hole rental homes. Spirit Dance Lodge is its name, and unforgettable family vacation retreat is its game. It’s a stunning property in winter or summer (or spring or fall, for that matter). Take a look:

tccgjh_spirit_dance_front_elevationHigh above the valley floor, Spirit Dance Lodge cascades down the hillside, its windows so brimming with mountains and sky that from inside, the house seems to be soaring, like a hawk on an updraft.

Decks and terraces wrap all around the home so that almost every room has an outdoor aspect. Set within a wildlife sanctuary and the Spring Creek Ranch resort, Spirit Dance Lodge is close to Jackson Hole’s world-class outdoor adventure, entertainment and dining. The renowned restaurants of Amangani and the Granary are just down the road; and yet Spirit Dance Lodge truly feels like a world apart, a sky-high sanctuary.

Spring Creek is a three-story house, and the front door opens to the middle floor, where a rustic stairwell leads both up and down, and a stone-floored foyer spills into a huge, vaulted living room. The Tetons come right in through the floor-to-ceiling windows; a fire blazes in the great stone hearth. Beautiful oriental rugs and the burnished butterscotch of fine antiques give a great feeling of warmth and welcome to this sumptuous Jackson Hole vacation rental.

The kitchen is ample, open and very well-equipped: a wine cooler, a full complement of glassware, china and cookware, a Viking range, and, of course, a door to the great wide deck. A long wood dining table stands at one end of the living area under a bank of glass; stupendous views are always invited to dinner. Just off of the kitchen is the cozy office. A long worktable offers plenty of space to spread out, and a wood-burning fireplace immediately bestows comfort and peace. The office has a large and luxurious private bath, and can easily become a comfortable guest room when the pull-out couch is extended.

Upstairs, a spacious, carpeted loft above the dining area has an enticing pair of chaise lounges facing a TV and bookshelves. A small deck over the front door lets you have a close look at wildlife passing by outside.

The master bath is actually a suite of rooms: a sink area with a U-shaped vanity and plenty of cabinetry; a bath area with a very large soaking tub and walk in shower, and a private water closet with toilet and bidet. The huge walk-in closet has two entrances.

Across the landing, the carpeted children’s room is a magical space, with a white-and-gold cast iron queen bedstead, and two twin beds tucked into windowed gables. Hand-painted furniture lends a storybook charm. The children’s room has its own bath with a tub/shower combo.

On Spirit Dance Lodge’s bottom floor (though with a view more altitudinous than the highest skyscraper), two spacious, lovely bedrooms with gas fireplaces share the level with the cedar sauna, the stone and tile steam room, a TV area and the laundry. Each guest bedroom has a large and luxurious private bath, with double sinks and walk-in shower. Just outside, another large terrace wraps around the house. An oval “alcove” of the terrace holds the fire pit – the ultimate spot for marshmallow-roasting, star-gazing and story telling.

If you can bear to leave the property, Spring Creek Ranch has lots of amenities to offer, and countless others are nearby. In winter, there are horse-drawn sleigh rides, miles of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, wildlife safaris. Downhill skiing, dog sledding, snow tubing. In the summer, horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, hot air ballooning – the possibilities are endless. The Clear Creek Group can arrange any kind of adventure for you, whether solo or guided; say the word and a private chef will have a feast waiting for you when you return. And the very next morning, the magic of a Jackson Hole holiday begins all over again. See the rest of the photos and book your stay at Spirit Dance Lodge Today!

As for today, the sun is still pouring down, filling the valley with pale gold light; accenting the snow’s blue shadows. My dogs are leaping over themselves with excitement to get outside. It is a grand idea, guys. I think I’ll strap on my snowshoes and head out with you into this gorgeous, glorious winter day.

Much Love,
